Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst  takes on a pivotal role as a techno-functional expert and leader in analysis efforts. Collaborating closely with internal client and information technology organizations, this role is responsible for leading the definition of functional requirements and functional designs for innovative solutions that align with Marriott's strategies and future business objectives. The Senior Business Analyst will work hand-in-hand with business stakeholders and foster a strong partnership with the Technology Product and Engineering teams to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate business requirements analysis and functional design work sessions, including the creation of business presentations, communications, and documentation.
• Lead functional design efforts, including the organization and delivery of demonstrations to stakeholders to validate the chosen approach.
• Identify creative solutions to address business requirements, conduct a comprehensive analysis of alternative options, and provide well-informed recommendations.
• Collaborate with external vendors and industry peers to gain additional insights, approaches, and demonstrations of potential solutions.
• Work closely with the client organization, including business analysts within the client organizations, to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Document functional, integration, and testing requirements, as well as Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operating level agreements.
• Lead technology cost/resource estimates and contribute to the development of business cases.
• Collaborate with the Technology Product organizations during development to address functional requirements and ensure the successful realization of functional design.
• Provide expertise and contribute to the ongoing development of multi-year technology roadmaps.
• Offer expertise and support to training and field support groups as needed before new releases are deployed.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the business partnership and planning processes.
• Train and mentor other team members and peers, as appropriate.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in information technology working on Application Development & OR Software Development Projects as a Business Analyst 
• Background in Salesforce-based custom applications.
• Must understand what an API (Application Programming Interface) is and Understand what a SQL query is.
• Must have a demonstrated expertise in bridging the gap between business requirements and software development through hands-on experience. Possessing a keen understanding of both business needs and software requirements, must excel as more than a mere note-taker, offering a strong technical aptitude to effectively translate and implement strategic objectives.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
• Proficiency in converting business needs into technology requirements and effectively managing project execution within Technology.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to dive deep into technical details to reach solutions.
• Experience in facilitating requirements analysis and functional design working sessions.
• Proven ability to identify and analyze alternative solutions to complex business requirements, providing valuable guidance and recommendations.
• Background in business process re-engineering.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Agile Development methodology and tools (CSPO or CSM certification is a plus).
• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with hospitality industry applications and processes.
