The Digital Workspace Services Lead Developer in Test is responsible for designing and implementing a test strategy for our Desktop Engineering team. This team’s mission is to Deliver a consistent End-User environment that enables employees to work from anywhere, anytime. They accomplish this through managing the mandatory software installed on all laptops. The test lead’s initial primary role will be to establish a test strategy for our workspace engineering group which manages the mandatory software installed on laptops. Additional test support for the other areas of the Digital Workspace Services group, for example testing Azure Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code deployments, to be provided as needed.
The Lead Developer in Test is a hands-on role who champions the DWS team’s quality assurance vision, and may manage a 1-4 junior SDETs.
Additional Required Skills
• Solid understanding of testing and troubleshooting on Windows using IT Troubleshooting tools and techniques (OS logs, Events, Windows Registry, etc)
• Familiarity with OS scripting languages (Powershell, Bash)
• Proficiency in designing systems performance tests, including the monitoring of OS-level metrics
• Ability to work under limited oversight on strategic problems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
Recommended Skills
• Previous IT / Help Desk experience a plus
• Solid understanding of testing and troubleshooting on Mac operating systems using IT Troubleshooting tools and techniques
• Previous experience performing QA for a Desktop Engineering team a plus
• Experience performing automated testing of Windows/Mac OS applications (WinUI, Java Swing, OS X Cocoa, etc) strongly preferred
