One of our Top clients is looking for a Director of Meeting and Event Technology. This role is a REMOTE and part of the Global Operations team.

The Director is the subject matter expert responsible for strategies related to identifying, creating, and implementing new ways to deliver meeting and event technologies to maximize revenues and enhance the attendee experience and drive planner satisfaction with primary focus on US & Canada Continent Lodging Services organization.

Meetings and Event technology includes the integration of meeting room, personal device, property technology and audio-visual capabilities.

This Role Will:

Own the relationship with the preferred Audio Visual vendor 

Ensure compliance and deliverables to MSA terms and conditions;
Be the champion for training and oversee the technology relationship with the US & Canada sales and event teams as a subject matter expert to improve sales closure and A/V commissions. T
Provide expertise in managing larger business processes and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting progress and results; and serve as the liaison to applicable technology and/or design partners in disciplines within the US & Canada, Global Design, and Information Technology to drive performance, and measure success and effectiveness. 

Key accountabilities include:
1. Grow property A/V revenues and commissions
2. Manage partnership with preferred (MSA) AV provider
3. Drive planner and group guest satisfaction
4. Inform on trends and forward-looking capabilities; consultative involvement in new builds and renovations
5. Establish strategy for M+E technology platforms
6. Maintain company-wide standards, policies, governance



  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Information Resources, or related professional area OR equivalent experience in Operations or related professional area
  • 8+ years of business management/sales leadership experience in the hotel event technology (audio/visual) field

• Expertise in one of the following areas: managing multi-brand platforms, client support, vendor management, account management skills or project management skills

• Ability to benchmark other business to identify effective technologies, processes, design innovations and trends

• Demonstrated collaborative skills with ability to work with cross functional teams


1. Grow property AV revenue and commissions
a. Drive property participation in third party master service agreement
b. Assist property and above property sales teams with closing strategic account business
c. Develop short and long-term strategies for growing revenue
d. Develop training for property and above property event and sales teams
2. Drive planner and group guest satisfaction
a. Monitor Event Satisfaction Survey (ESS) and 3rd party planner satisfaction data
b. Partner with sales/event management organizations to ensure product and service offerings meet current group needs
c. Establish plans and actions to improve scores / celebrate success
3. Establish strategy for Meeting and Event technology platform; continue to evolve to position the company as a leader
a. Partner and provide input to Global Design Strategies regarding property Meetings & Events technology solutions requirements
b. Represent company at key industry and trade events to understand evolving trends and technology
c. Identify upgrades to existing platforms and develop processes to prioritize and secure funding source
d. Provide capital and operating budget guidance
e. Identifies business development opportunities and develops recommendations to cultivate, while ensuring the sustainability of existing program and stakeholder/vendor relationships
f. Assumes conduit role in vendor relationships
g. Leverages data to implement strategies/offerings and drive effectiveness to optimize performance. Create measurable metrics for success, ROI, and compliance
4. Maintain company-wide standards, policies, governance
a. Facilitates balanced decision-making in establishing policies and governance related to current and new technology strategies; gains alignment with property, continent, owner, brand, franchised stakeholders
b. Maintain companywide standards (Operations, Brand) on and other required portals
c. Consults and partners with Global Quality team to define and monitor Brand Standards as identified
d. Builds and maintains effective partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel required (5-10%)
