Job Description: Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team on a straight contract basis for a duration of 4 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and the organization’s future needs. We are looking for a true network engineering professional with extensive experience in cloud migration strategy, routing and switching, and access control. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in our upcoming project, involving network infrastructure transformation, cloud connectivity, and migration to Azure.

Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Migration Strategy: Collaborate with the team to devise and execute an efficient cloud migration strategy, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruptions to business operations.

2. SD-WAN Catch Up: Bring the network infrastructure up-to-date with the latest advancements in SD-WAN technology and optimize its performance for increased efficiency.

3. Network Engineering Expertise: Leverage your 5-7 years of network engineering experience, particularly within a Cisco environment, to design, implement, and manage network solutions effectively.

4. Collaboration: Work closely with the primary network engineer to ensure seamless integration of new solutions and maintain a cohesive and robust network architecture.

5. Immediate Contribution: As this is a contract role with a short timeframe, you must be ready to contribute from day one and work independently with minimal training.

6. Core Competencies: Demonstrate expertise in Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, and an engineer monitoring system. A background in FortiGate will be advantageous.

7. Project Management: Take ownership of the routing and switching area, access control, and overall network project, and deliver results in a timely and efficient manner.

9. Cloud Connectivity: Ensure successful connectivity to the Azure cloud platform, facilitating a smooth migration process from on-premises to cloud-based systems.

10. Contribute to the decommissioning of physical network location, including colocation, disaster recovery planning, and systems migration.

Please note that this is a four-month contract position, and the project involves critical deadlines for the network transformation. The ideal candidate must be able to start immediately and make a significant impact in a short period.
