Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is a well-known global brand in the HVAC industry, known for manufacturing a wide range of heating, cooling, and air quality systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. They produce air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, ventilators, and other related products. We are looking for a qualified Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on-site in Charlotte North Carolina on a full time 40 hours/ week schedule. 

Location: Onsite in Charlotte, NC (5 days/ week M-F) THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE.
Duration: Starts as a long term contract with potential for extension. 

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project management and the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team to ensure efficient production processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing fixtures and tooling, developing comprehensive work instructions, tracking action items, and completing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities including Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing Fixtures and Tooling: Develop innovative fixtures and tooling solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.

2. Work Instruction Development: Create clear and detailed work instructions to guide production operations, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.

3. Action Item Tracking: Monitor and manage action items related to manufacturing processes, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.

4. PPAP Activities: Lead PPAP activities, including the preparation of PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA documentation, to validate manufacturing processes and ensure product quality.

5. Project Management: Effectively manage projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deliverables.

6. Communication: Communicate technical information effectively to stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment on project objectives.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 
– Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture and tooling design.
– Strong understanding of PPAP processes and documentation requirements.
– Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
