Annapolis Python Meetup – 07/19/2019

In today’s world, Python is king. I know what you’re thinking… I’m not just talking about the world’s largest snake.

Python is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most popular programming languages, sitting in the third slot on the TIOBE Index as of June 2019.Its reach greatly extends outside the world of software developers because of its huge array of benefits and uses. It is a multi-purpose language that brings people together from many different aspects of IT from software engineering to Data Science to DevOps and is currently the #1 language employers are looking for.2

Staying up-to-date on the fastest-growing programming language can be a difficult task. Most IT professionals are naturally curious on up and coming technologies. What better way to learn and nurture these ideas than collaborate and expand your knowledge with like-minded individuals? By providing opportunities for continued learning, expanding the Python network, and building meaningful relationships we are focused on helping our network achieve their Filltential.

To invest in the success of our colleague’s careers, our recent technology meetup and networking event in our Annapolis Headquarters Office solely focused on Python with high-level presentations. Attendees ranging from junior engineers to seasoned professionals to retirees looking to get back into the job market were able to connect on collaborative projects and even took time to examine code.

According to Account Recruiting Manager, Joe Mintz, “There was a shared sense of community being in Annapolis since most people are used to working IT jobs in DC or Baltimore. People were very collaborative in the presentations and conversations about others interests. Some people were so enthusiastic that they volunteered to present at the next event.”
