Our third installment of Annapolis’s Python meetup was once again a hit. Hosted at The Commons Annapolis, and by AI and Data Science consulting firm Miner & Kasch, our meetup gathered Python specialists and enthusiasts for a night of good conversation, drinks and of course, data-driven solutions.

The topic for the evening: Building an NLP (natural language processing) model into web applications for Python’s flask.

Miner & Kasch Senior Data Scientist, John DeBovis, presented an engaging and interactive presentation highlighting the identifiable benefits of both Python’s quality and efficiency in its data collection process.

A nod to the nautical town, DeBovis illustrated the process by walking the audience through the steps of purchasing a sailboat, which with this crowd, means generating an NLP document classifier, utilizing sci-kit and deploying it with a flask web.

Our Python meetup has continued to attract a great community of diverse professionals and we look forward to continuing to buildout this series.

We’re always excited to connect with like-minded professionals in the area, if you’re interested in attending or presenting at one of our upcoming meetups, reach out today!
